Standing with His Majesty’s Happy Home
In 2006, Alberta Smith followed a call to serve. She left the UK and moved to Odumase, Ghana, a place where many children were homeless, hungry, and out of school. What began with shared meals and safe spaces has grown into His Majesty’s Happy Home, a thriving orphanage and school now serving over 250 children.
With love, determination, and deep faith, Alberta built a movement. The orphanage and school have become a beacon of hope in the community.
At Heart 2 Hand, we’re honoured to have come alongside Alberta and the children of His Majesty’s Happy Home to support and strengthen this vital work.
Through music nights, fundraisers, and the generosity of our supporters, Heart 2 Hand has helped raise over £40,000 to build a new school! The old classrooms were noisy, overcrowded, and at risk of closure but now, thanks to our donors, a beautiful new school building is nearly complete: a place where children can learn with dignity and joy.
What’s left to do?
-
Finish the washrooms
-
Install fans and electrics
-
Fit doors and frames
-
Plaster and paint the walls
This is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a symbol of what’s possible when people act in love and faith.
Will you help us finish the job?

Prison to Purpose
"My life was a disaster, now I am a Pastor serving The Master!"
The above is the slogan of Solomon, known as Sollie, who spent 25 years in prison after being embroiled in the gang culture of the Cape Flats, SA. Today, he leads a remarkable project, 'Voice Of The Voiceless' where he and his team give hope to hundreds of children living in poverty.
The programme offers meals, homework clubs, training, play and pastoral care, creating a safe, nurturing space where children can thrive.
Heart 2 Hand is proud to support this grassroots work with funding, resources and encouragement.
