Play for Purpose 2026 – More Than a Football Tournament
What a day.
Play for Purpose 2026 was everything we hoped it would be and more. The football was competitive (these kids are proper lil ballers), the atmosphere was brilliant, the food was incredible, and there was laughter from start to finish. Most importantly, people came together around something much bigger than football.
A huge thank you goes to the Busari family and Global Football Academy, whose vision, hard work and commitment made the day possible. They organised a fantastic event that brought together around 160 people from across the community.
One of the real highlights was seeing children connect with the Heart 2 Hand story. They weren't just there to play football…, they were learning that children their own age, thousands of miles away, don't always have the same opportunities.
Parents were also asking lots of questions about Heart 2 Hand…, how the charity started, the work in Ghana, the school, and why we do what we do. Those conversations matter. Raising money is important, but raising awareness, building relationships and inspiring people to become part of the journey is just as valuable.
The event wouldn't have been possible without our amazing volunteers. From welcoming people, taking donations and serving on stalls, to praying, encouraging others and quietly helping wherever they were needed, you made the day what it was. Thank you.
A special mention also goes to One Love Food Truck, whose food kept everyone well fed throughout the day. Judging by the queues and the smiles, it certainly went down well!
Every pound raised will help change lives through education and opportunity.
Days like this remind us that when communities come together around a shared purpose, great things happen.
We are already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
