Meet Appiah!

This image was captured back in 2022, when our founder, Tyron, met Appiah and heard his incredible story. Against all odds, Appiah was building a future for himself after losing both parents and being brought to His Majesty’s Happy Home orphanage.

Taken in and loved as one of their own by Patrick and Alberta Smith, Appiah found a new family. Orphaned at just 13, he continued his education with determination and heart. Now, he teaches Science to children at the Happy Home orphanage and school while saving for university.

We’re so proud to share that Appiah has since begun his university journey! We can’t wait to catch up with him when we return to Ghana later this year to see how far he’s come.

Rumour has it, he still returns to his Happy Home family for his favourite meals because no one cooks like “mother.” (When Appiah says “mother,” he’s talking about Alberta Smith, the incredible woman who runs the orphanage and school. She’s earned that title in every sense ❤️)
